Last year, Aldi racked up laurels from many different organizations—and, surprisingly, many awards came from the wine industry.

The retailer collected over 35 awards for their private-label wines from industry authorities such as the Beverage Testing Institute and Chefs of America—including five gold medals in the “Best Buy” category for their moscato, malbec, pinot noir, zinfandel, and brut sparkling wine.

Aldi’s Sargent Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon was also rated as a “Highly Recommend” product at the San Diego International Wine and Spirits Challenge.

And it’s not just wine pros that rave about the grocer’s wine—consumers seem to love it, too. Aldi’s Broken Clouds Pinot Noir was designated as the 2017 Product of the Year by over 40,000 shoppers who voted for the medium, dry red wine with an “allspice” finish. The best part? The bottle retails for just $12.99.
