Bake a Second Batch: Bacon and Brew Muffins for Father's Day


Just for Dad, gutsy beer-spiked muffins that pack some sweet heat.

Double up and bake an extra dozen of these streusel muffins for Dad. He'll get a kick out of the cayenne and candied-bacon topping that lends crunch to each bite. It may seem odd to find beer in a breakfast treat, but creamy, Irish-style stout adds mellow notes of chocolate and coffee to the tender crumb. Muffin batter doesn't hold well, so only double the batter if you have enough tins to bake 24 muffins at once; if not, make a second batch of batter when your tins are free. Deliver with a note that they're great at room temperature or gently warmed in the microwave.
